How does Whey Protein effect existing health conditions?
Answer: Whey protein should be safe for you, however you will find that it is always recommended to check with your doctor if you're taking other medications. Whenever people give advice about supplements, it's important to mention that if you're taking prescribed medication that you check before adding new supplements. This is just the safe recommendation that you will hear from almost everyone. That being said, whey protein should not be a problem for you. Most whey proteins today are very pure and are a good source of protein. If you haven't been advised to stay away from protein, then whey should not give you a problem. Because you've actually been advised to consume more protein, whey is a good choice. In fact this is exactly how supplements are supposed to be used. They conveniently help customize your diet. Whey protein is like any other type of protein, except that it is absorbed by your body much faster. This is why it's great for people who exercise. If you're fine with eggs, meat and so on, whey protein will be fine. The only concern would be if you're lactose intolerant. In this case make sure you get a pure isolate whey protein. Weight gainers which have whey protein in them will also have lots of sugar so you won't want to use those. A good protein like Optimum Whey will be fine for you.
