Nitro Tech Review

MuscleTech's advanced protein supplement

Nitro Tech is one of MuscleTech's 3 main muscle building supplements.

First comes their pre workout supplement Nano Vapor, then there's Cell Tech Hardcore which is their creatine supplement, and finally their Nitro Tech whey protein.

Of course, MuscleTech has other supplements, but these are some of the more popular ones. Taken together they're a pretty big muscle building stack.

MuscleTech certainly leads the way with supplement advertisements. They definitely push the limits in terms of marketing.

Flashy ads, major athletes endorsing their products, and sometimes outlandish percentage figures... 73% better, 8 times more muscle building capacity, 26 times more mass... and so on.

All this extra advertising is reflected in their prices. In general, you will pay a bit more for MuscleTech products, but not always. Shopping online is usually the best way to buy these supplements. I find prices at local GNC stores to be much higher than prices on the Internet.

But behind all the marketing campaigns, there are some solid supplements. I've personally used Cell Tech as my creatine supplement over the last few years because I've always seen results with it. Sure it might be a bit more expensive, but I perform better using it.

That can be an advantage with using MuscleTech products. Sometimes using supplements that top athletes promote can give you an incentive to train harder. If using these products can motivate you to keep training, then they're worth the extra cost.

Most bodybuilders and athletes know the importance of a protein supplement.

Before taking a nitric oxide supplement or creatine supplements, you should make sure you're getting quality protein. Protein is the most popular product among athletes and bodybuilders for a reason.

If you're not getting enough protein from your diet, then supplementing whey protein is highly recommended. You can read more about the whey protein benefits here.

Why is Nitro Tech Hardcore so special?

MuscleTech claims that this product is much more than just a whey protein supplement. There's a lot of advancement in technology surrounding this supplement.

It is supposed to have 25% more protein than previous formulas, and it's supposed to be 73% better than basic whey protein.

Some of these figures are based on a University study that found the group that supplemented with Nitro Tech gained 73% more muscle than the group that just supplemented with whey protein.

I think it's tough to make these claims from one study, and it's not clear what supplement the basic whey protein was.

If I were you, I wouldn't trust these figures. It doesn't mean this supplement isn't good, just don't build unrealistic expectations.

If your gym partner is using a different supplement, and you're using this MuscleTech protein supplement, don't expect to build 73% more muscle than him... It probably won't happen.

Basic Supplement Ingredients per 1 scoop:

  • 130 calories
  • 1.5 grams of fat
  • 3 grams of carbs
  • 3 grams of sugar
  • 25 grams of protein

25 grams of protein per scoop is an ideal amount. This will definitely help you increase your total protein intake.

3 grams of sugar isn't a lot, but if you're taking 2 scoops per shake, and having 3 shakes a day, that's 18 grams of sugar. If you're consuming more that one shake a day, it can add up.

If you're on a super strict diet and want to really limit your sugar intake, I would recommend reading about EAS premium protein, or Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey. They only have 1 gram of sugar per scoop.

Does Nitro Tech live up to the hype?

Overall this is a good supplement. It has lots of protein per serving.

I can't really make a comment on all the extra scientific technology put into these supplements. Supposedly there was a lot of research conducted to formulate a better whey protein formula. Whether it really makes a difference is hard to tell.

They mention one University study. That's certainly not enough tests to really make these claims believable.

However, Nitro Tech has received positive reviews from its users.

Personally, I've used this supplement and liked it. I thought it tasted fine and was happy with the results. I had a friend who worked at MuscleTech in Toronto Canada, and he would supply me with the Ready-To-Drink (RTD) formulas. RTD formulas come pre-made in a can.

These were great because they were so convenient to take anywhere. Unfortunately my friend no longer works with MuscleTech so I haven't had a Nitro Tech RTD in awhile.

Most users found this supplement to be pretty good, while a few didn't like it at all. Some people reported really good gains after using it for a period of time, and others didn't like the taste and switched to another brand right away.

Reviews are usually mixed, however I have seen better overall reviews with other protein supplements. I would recommend reading about the best whey protein here.
