Muscle Building Foods
Use these foods in your muscle building diets, then add supplements
Here are some of the best foods for building muscle.
Whether you're looking for foods to gain weight,
or maintain your muscle mass, this list will help create your muscle building diets.
Health supplements do make great sources of protein, but you can't rely on them to do everything.
It's important to remember that supplements are just a tool.
If you're trying to build muscle
you should be incorporating these important foods into your diet.
Base your diet around these natural foods and keep it simple.
Add supplements to reach your specific health
and fitness goals.
Protein is king when it comes to building muscle:
- Chicken
- Fish
- Beef
- Eggs
- Dairy Products
These are the best foods for building muscle because they are complete proteins.
They are called
complete proteins because they contain all essential amino acids. Plants are also sources of
proteins but they aren't as good.
Proteins from vegetables, beans and grains are not complete
proteins because they lack some of the essential amino acids.
Protein builds muscle and amino acids build protein.
There are 8 essential amino acids that you
must
get from your diet. They are called essential because your body does not produce them. The above
list
of foods have all essential amino acids and therefore make the best sources of muscle foods.
Create your diet around these natural foods, then use supplement sources of protein to complete
your diet.
My typical weight gaining diet:
A great diet that I use to gain weight and muscle is made up of many of these natural foods:
Meal 1: Shake consisting of whole milk, protein powder, banana and almond butter
Meal 2: 5 eggs, 1 sweet potatoe (yam)
Meal 3: 5 oz of meat, 1 cup of brown rice, 1 sweet potatoe
Meal 4: Same as meal 3
Meal 5: Another shake
This is a super clean diet filled with lots of healthy calories. Keep it simple.
