Most people who rid themselves of their coffee addiction, feel way better... but it's not that easy.





With proper dosages, the health effects of caffeine are not that bad. Infact some effects are quite good.

Caffeine is a stimulant. If small amounts are taken you will experience an increase in your mental response time.

Most of us need this every morning. We call it our caffeine fix.

People say they get in better moods after their cup of coffee in the morning, but that just might be due to fixing the withdrawal state.

No doubt about it, there are positive effects of coffee. Most of these occur with lower dosages.


Here the known benefits of caffeine:

  • Helps you overcome chronic fatigue
  • Helps with weight control
  • Helps alleviate some pain
  • Can open up airways for improved breathing


If you stick to about 300 mg of caffeine per day, which is around 3 normal size cups of coffee you should be fine.

However, those that kick caffeine to the curb do feel much better. You might get some bad headaches for the first week, but once you're past the need for caffeine, you will feel a lot healthier.

But, if you love your morning cup of coffee, don't sweat it. The bad effects of caffeine usually occur only when large amounts are taken.


Here are some of the cons of caffeine:

  • The shakes
  • Irritable
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Anxiety
  • Diarrhea


These generally will occur when you consume more than 300 mg of caffeine per day.

It's important to remember that coffee is not the only thing supplying you with caffeine. There's caffeine in tea, candy, soda, chocolate and other dietary supplements.

So, if you drink 3 cups of coffee during the day, and 2 cans of coke at night, you are getting too much caffeine. This can lead to some of the negative effects of caffeine.
