Flaxseed Oil Side Effects
Fish oil vs flaxseed oil.... which is better?
Some flaxseed oil side effects have been found in certain health studies.
These studies also
question the benefits of flaxseed.
The battle of fish oil vs flaxseed oil definitely goes to the
fish.
The fact is, there are some health benefits of flaxseed oil, but in terms of a source of omega 3
fatty acids, they will never replace fish oil.
When it comes to the side effects found in certain studies, the evidence is not
crystal clear.
One study shows positive effects while others show certain harmful effects.
I think it's important to note that too much of anything is harmful.
Some studies were conducted
on animals where side effects occurred when large dosages of flaxseed oil were
administered.
What you should watch out for.
If you have any pre medical conditions always consult with your doctor before taking new
supplements. Even check with flaxseed oil. Just to be safe.
If you are pregnant, you might want to consult your doctor as well. Some studies show that flax
seed lignans may cause complications with pregnancy.
Again, just to be safe it's best to avoid
large amounts of flaxseed during pregnancy.
With some of the controversy surrounding the flaxseed oil effects, all we can do is hope for
some more studies to be conducted.
One thing is for sure, if you're looking to take advantage of the benefits of omega 3 fatty acids,
you will want to take fish oil rather than flaxseed oil.
Fish oil is still the best source for quality omega 3 fatty acids.
