Cocaine Energy Drink

Does it really live up to its name?

Cocaine Energy Drink certainly had a few issues when it first came out.

It's hard to name your drink after an illegal drug and not get any criticism.

But some people feel there's no such thing as bad publicity.

The controversial name, Cocain Energy, actually got some good news coverage from CNN. The founder (James Kirby) was able to speak about the Cocaine Energy drink.

James claims that most people are smart enough to understand that the drug form of cocaine is not in the drink. I would have to agree with him on that.

He also states that cocaine is synonymous with energy and this is why they named the drink Cocaine. Cocaine and high energy might be synonymous, but certainly not in a positve way.

Most energy drink companies do not recommend that children consume their products. The Cocaine Energy drink is not targeting young children. They are trying to target an older group of people.

This is why they didn't go with the extreme sports marketing that a lot of the other energy drinks have. See the Monster Energy Drink page.

A lot of parents seem to be upset regarding the Cocaine Energy drink. The interview makes a point about the responsibility of the parents.

Cocaine Energy states that their target market is not children. They make a good point that parents have a responsibility for the health of their children.

I don't think you can put all the blame on the energy drink companies if children are consuming their product.

It's the same with violent video games, music, and movies. The exposure to cocaine in music and movies is way bigger than the Cocaine Energy drink will ever be.

Cocaine Energy Drink can Does Cocaine Energy live up to its name?

Well, if you consider that cocaine is an illegal drug, and Cocaine Energy has been removed from the shelves in certain parts of the world, then in this respect it does live up to its name.

If you're looking to walk into your local convenience store and pick up a Cocaine Energy drink today, you might be disapointed. The drink is "illegal" (not available in stores) in certain areas. I think Texas is one of them.

I guess the controversy did not really work out for Cocaine's distribution. There are certain places in the United States where it is available, but it's certainly not nation wide like the other energy drinks.

Your best bet for buying the Cocaine Energy drink would be online. You will probably find some online stores that will ship it out, or people selling it on Ebay. If you buy it from Ebay, you can expect the price to be jacked up a bit.

Depending on where you live, you might have some problems having the drink delivered. I would look into that before ordering anything online.

Since I don't personally promote the use of energy drinks, I'll have to turn you over to Google where you can search to buy the drink.

How does Cocaine Energy compare to other drinks?

A single Cocaine Energy drink is supposed to have the equivalent energy to 3.5 cans of Red Bull. They actually have much less sugar than a typical can of Coke or Pepsi.

Are the ingredients in the Cocaine Energy drink dangerous?

If you were to make a typical cup of coffee, you would probably be getting around 100 mg of caffeine. If you visit a Starbucks and get a 20 ounce Grande coffee, you're getting around 500 mg of caffeine.

The amount of caffeine in a the Cocaine Energy drink is 280 mg. So comparing the amount of caffeine to a Grande coffee at Starbucks, and the sugar to a can of of cola, this drink is not as bad.

This does not mean that it is a healthy product. Sure it doesn't have 500 mg of caffeine, but that's a ton of caffeine anyways. And it might not have as much sugar as Coke or Pepsi, but any kind of soda is extremely unhealthy.

So comparing these numbers, Cocaine Energy might look better, but it doesn't make it a healthy choice. I personally don't recommend the use of energy drinks anyways. There are better ways to increase your energy.

Again, Cocaine has never claimed to be a health product. I would imagine that most of the energy drink users understand that they are not drinking energy drinks to stay healthy.

Does the Cocaine Energy drink have too much caffeine?

I would say that yes, this drink has too much caffeine. 280 mg of caffeine is a lot. Especially for a 8 ounce can. It becomes a concern when young teens drink more than one per day. For young teenagers that's too much caffeine.

But you can't just blame the energy drinks for providing customers with so much caffeine. The Grande at Starbucks packs close to 500 mg of caffeine. Sure it's twice the size of a the Cocaine Energy drink, and it is not marketed to the younger generations, but that's still a lot of caffeine for anyone.

Now to be realistic, you're probably not going to get any side effects that you should worry about from one drink. Using these products every once and awhile is not going to affect you too much.

I think there's way too much caffeine and way too much sugar in these products, but 1 can is not going to kill you. However, daily use is a really unhealthy choice.

Cocaine Energy Drink Reviews:

Most of the reviews on the taste of this energy drink have been average at best. People have complained of a chemical after taste.

It's hard for you to get a good review on taste because people's preferences are different. That being said, many people feel that there are other energy drinks that taste better than Cocaine Energy.

But taste isn't everything when it comes to energy drinks. On the energy scale of things, this drink is extremely potent. That's what you would expect with 280 mg of caffeine in an 8 ounce can.

That's a lot of caffeine. Most feedback on the energy kick has been positive. Many people have experienced a big energy boost. So if you're less concerned with taste and more concerned with the energy kick, Cocaine won't disappoint you.

Again, it might take some running around to get your hands on one.

Remember, energy drinks are not a healthy way to increase your energy.

I will not say that they don't work because it is pretty clear that people do experience an increase in energy when consuming these products. But too much caffeine and too much sugar is not good for you.

This energy drink, and the other energy drinks might give you some short term energy, but it's definitely not something you would want to be taking daily.

If you lack energy during the day, don't start relying on energy drinks. You're going to end up in a worse condition. There are better options out there.

You should probably focus more on your basic nutrition and exercise routine rather than looking for help from energy drinks. 8 hours of sleep is probably your best medicine.
