Cell Tech Creatine

Why MuscleTech's Cell Tech Hardcore works so well

Cell Tech creatine has been one of my favorite supplements for many years.

I have used both Cell Tech Hardcore and the original.

I have always experienced positive results with this supplement.

Unlike whey protein where I usually bounce around and try different brands, I've always stuck to using Cell Tech creatine consistently. This may make my views a bit biased here :)

I find that I gain weight and strength when I use MuscleTech Cell Tech.

I normally cycle it on and off throughout the year.

My personal creatine use might be a bit different from other people's. I like to use creatine after the summer for 4 to 8 weeks, and again in February and March.

These are the times when I try and bulk up and this is when I find Cell Tech to be really beneficial for me.

I try and stay lean during the summer so using it in September works well. Then over the holidays I tend to eat more and my training is a little less consistent.

After New Years and with a good month of getting back into my routine, supplementing it again in February helps set up gains for the summer.

My training clearly revolves around the summer time :)

You don't need to cycle creatine like this, but I've found that this pattern usually works best for me. I don't like taking Cell Tech all year round for reasons mentioned below, however some people do. I personally find it works best to bust through some natural plateaus.

Speaking of natural plateaus, one suggestion I would make is to use creatine once you have been consistently training for a good period of time.

If you're just a beginner, or you're getting back into your routine, wait until you've made some gains. I wouldn't take creatine until you've had a good 6 - 8 weeks of consistent training.

Supplementing right away isn't as useful because you're normally not as consistent in the beginning. You're sore, you need more rest and so on. Also, you will make natural gains building yourself back up.

What makes Cell Tech creatine different?

Cell Tech is a creatine mix, as opposed to just plain creatine monohydrate. If you're a beginner, it's usually recommended to start with basic creatine monohydrate.

Cell Tech contains creatine monohydrate and other ingredients. One that should be talked about is dextrose.

If you look at the label, this supplement contains 75 grams of dextrose. Dextrose is listed under carbohydrates. You can think of it as sugar, or also called glucose.

The reason Cell Tech is so effective, is that all that dextrose (sugar) per serving, spikes your blood sugar levels. When your blood sugar gets increased, your pancreas releases insulin to bring the levels back to normal.

The release of insulin helps with the absorption of creatine. This combination is what makes this supplement work so well.

Why don't I stay on Cell Tech all year round?

As I mentioned above, I only take Cell Tech for 4 to 8 weeks at a time.

The same thing that helps with absorption, might not be very healthy over the long term.

Constantly spiking your blood sugar is not good for you. Over time, if your body is constantly releasing insulin, it is very hard on your pancreas.

Now, if you have a clean diet and only spike your blood sugar when using Cell Tech creatine, it shouldn't cause any problems.

But if you are constantly spiking your blood sugar, it can lead to health problems. This is why I wouldn't use this product everyday, all year round.

If you decide to take creatine all year round, I would recommend sticking to creatine monohydrate.

There is a full article on carbohydrates effects on the body here. It explains all about spiking your blood sugar and releasing insulin.

Final thoughts - Should you use this supplement?

I have found Cell-Tech Hardcore to work really well and I do recommend it.

However, I only suggest you use it for short periods of time. I would recommend cycling it on and off like I do. I wouldn't recommend taking it all year round.
